When we first started offering our tours, we never thought it would become such a great success.  We feel that Newark has so much to offer and we would love to share it with you. Our tours are fantastic for reunions and large groups and we welcome all to our lovely town, who want to find out the secrets hidden within the historic walls.

Newark Upon Trent is a beautiful medieval market town, that is rich in history. The remainder of our formidable 12th century castle, is still an imposing site, as it stands proudly guarding the town. King John died in Newark castle in 1216.

On your guided tour around Newark, you will learn about Newark’s history throughout the centuries. As we stroll around timber framed buildings and quaint narrow streets, you will also discover the vital role that Newark played  during the English Civil War between 1642-1646.

This historic town, which is one of a handful of medieval market towns in England is where King Charles 1st surrendered in Newark in 1646. The tour will take you to the heart of the town, it’s market, which is as busy today as it ever was, selling local produce.
